"Beautiful values of sport"
I would like to express all the respect that I have for a man who represents at the same time all the most beautiful values of sport, the greatest human qualities one can imagine, and who has honoured French sport and, simply, France. That's Jacques Chirac, somewhat bizarrely, on Zinedine Zidane.
I'm not convinced the "most beautiful values of sport" or "greatest human qualities" include headbutting someone, which must mean that Chirac is the only person who watched Zidane's outrageous behaviour last night to think the player still deserves their "respect".
