Services for disabled customers need to be publicised more
"New Ofcom research has revealed that communications providers need to do more to publicise services that are available for disabled customers." Well done to Ofcom for undertaking the research in the first place.
"Disabled consumers receive such a shockingly inadequate level of service from communication providers that they are being "disenfranchised from society", according to a survey conducted by Ofcom. The communications regulator anonymously contacted BT, Orange, O2, TalkTalk, T-Mobile, Virgin Media, 3 and Vodafone, asking for advice on the services available for blind or visually impaired customers. It found that, even after prompting, a quarter of consumers were either not given information or were told that the providers didn't offer any special services for disabled customers."
I think Randeep is being generous to Lansley here. I don't think Lansley has the strategic nous to vision himself out of a box. He's a partisan animal with an ego, and won't be able to resist having digs as those with actual expertise continue to circle.
First, they think of delaying the cuts because of the "complexity" of the changes they wring. And now another example of the coalition not understanding what was perfectly evident to anyone who had the slightest clue about how this stuff works.
